Research Authority

MTA’s Research Authority exists to inspire, advance and provided our faculty members with the means and tools to conduct and achieve excellence in applied academic research.

Research Authority Goals

​To expand and deepen a foundation of high level research among faculty members.

To guide and support faculty members in securing national and international research endowments and grants.

To provided faculty members with the facilities and equipment to conduct pioneering, state-of-the-art research.

To advance pathways to national and international collaborations.

To promote and solidify the MTA’s reputation as a leader in applied academic research.

Leadership

Dr. Amit Kaplan (Ph.D., Tel Aviv University, 2010) is the Director of Research, Development, and Innovation and a senior lecturer in the Family Studies Master's Program at the School of Government and Society, Academic College of Tel Aviv-Yaffo. She earned her Ph.D. in Sociology and Anthropology at Tel Aviv University and completed post-doctoral research in the Gender Studies Program at Bar-Ilan University. She was a visiting scholar at the Centre for Population, Family, and Health (CPFH) at Antwerp University. Throughout her career, Amit has been awarded several prestigious research grants, including from the ISF, totaling over 1,000,000 NIS. Her research focuses on family, work, gender, and welfare policy, with publications in leading journals such as Gender & Society, Gender, Work & Organization, European Journal of Population, Culture, Health & Sexuality, Journal of Family Issues, Social Science Research, Demographic Research, Journal of Youth Studies, Advances in Life Course Research, and Human Reproduction.
