The Purpose Generator
An MTA Initiative
We stand with our students in a place of opportunity, a nurturing home where conversation sparks imagination, and learned hands help build a platform on which we give shape to our dreams. Grounded in conviction, we rise with the sun to amaze,
and to be amazed by the spirit and knowledge that pass through our door
Introduction
Founded in 2007, The Purpose Generator was the first of its kind in Israel, and has since led to the founding of dozens of successful social ventures, which have brought about change in key areas of public life in Israel.
Mission
The center aims to inspire a generation of change-makers to establish business ventures that will combine value with profit, impacting tens of thousands of Israelis, in particular marginalized communities such as South Tel Aviv and Yaffo.
Program Overview
The center offers an intensive, one-year extracurricular program offering students the opportunity and means to turn innovative ideas into social business solutions. The program is open to all MTA students from which only few are competitively selected each academic year.
The program consists of academic teaching in business foundations, tailored workshops in which students develop their individual ideas, and an entire framework of support, including personal mentorship, consulting and networking activities.
Towards the conclusion of the training program, few initiatives are competitively selected to continue to a full “Go-To-Market” process, and to receive additional 1-year support, including seed funds from investors, and a Startup status under the legal banner of the college
